Revealed: How to Heal Your Body and Spirit

Revealed: How to Heal Your Body and Spirit
Did you know that disturbing emotions can be bad for your health? Emotions such as anger, frustration, anxiety and even jealousy can manifest in the physical body and end up as ulcers, allergies, migraines and even back pain, if not more.

This is one reason that simple practices such as yoga, tai-chi and even chi-gong can be so restorative for the mind, body and spirit. Reiki is also one of the most effective methods to heal your body and spirit.

Everything is energy, and the truth of the matter is that energy cannot be created or destroyed. It can only be transformed.

If you believe in this theory, you see that hurtful emotions can often transform into illness and disease. Physics tells us that if you match the frequency of the reality you want, you cannot help but get that reality.

If this statement is true, then if you focus on healing, then healing will come. Wellbeing encompasses all of your parts, not just your physical body.

When your emotions are in turmoil and you are continually anxious and stressed, you aren’t really doing yourself any favours for healing. A wonderful way to heal the body and spirit is through physical practices such as yoga, tai chi and chi-gong.

The ancient practice of yoga has been around for over 5,000 years. Most Westernised yoga classes focus on physical poses, also known as asanas.

Many cultures practised some kind of yoga, dating back as far as the mid-third millennium BC. Yoga is not only beneficial for strengthening the physical body, but it also helps one heal the mind and spirit through its meditative focus.

Yoga has many benefits, including helping to decrease depression and lower anxiety, and it can even help with sleep disorders and help you better manage pain. People describe Yoga as a general term that represents the physical, mental and spiritual disciplines that originated in ancient India.

Yoga is one of six schools of Hindu philosophy. Most forms of yoga include a breathing technique and some kind of meditative technique.

While some forms of yoga focus purely on relaxation, others focus on core strength, muscle toning, balance, and flexibility. A simple yoga practice can help you both physically and mentally, similar to the practices of tai chi and chi-gong.

Tai Chi

Tai chi, an ancient Chinese tradition, is a very graceful form of exercise. It involves a slow, focused series of movements accompanied with deep breathing.

Tai chi, also called Tai Chi Chuan, is a noncompetitive traditional form of exercise and movement. You perform poses at your own pace, with each pose flowing gracefully into the next.

There are many styles of tai chi, each with its own subtle variety. Research has shown that tai chi may have some health benefits besides improved mental wellbeing, as some studies show favourable effects on balance control, flexibility and cardiovascular fitness.

Studies also show that tai chi can help reduce the risk of falls in elderly patients and those who are recovering from heart failure, stroke, high blood pressure, multiple sclerosis and Alzheimer’s.

Tai chi may also be beneficial for stress relief, besides improved mental health, with one study suggesting that one hour to one year of regular practice can increase psychological well-being while reducing stress, depression and anxiety. Tai chi can also help also in enhancing the mood, so it is beneficial to both the body and the spirit.

The ancient practice of chi-gong or qi-gong, however you want to say it, is based on the idea that chi or qi is energy that flows through the body. The energy pathways can get blocked at any point in the body, creating illness and disease.

When you engage in a practice such as chi-gong, the theory is that you free up these energetic pathways, increasing the flow of chi, which can help you improve your health and your spirit. Chi-gong involves different movements that are done in different orders.

You may use chi-gong to improve posture, coordination, endurance, or even flexibility. The practice also helps you maintain good health and improved quality of life.

According to the theory of yin and yang, a Chinese-based principle, these types of gentle movements can help balance the body’s yin and yang forces. Any way you put it, these kinds of gentle exercises can help you because they are not only beneficial for restoring physical health, they are also beneficial in restoring and maintaining good mental health.

For simple ways to heal the body and spirit, these ancient practices can give you a lot of bang for your buck.

Revealed: How Spiritual Health Affects Your Physical Relationships

Revealed: How Spiritual Health Affects Your Physical Relationships
Are you one of the many couples that are feeling disconnected from their partners? With divorce becoming a normal everyday situation, there is more need than ever to make your relationship a priority, but it seems like another date night just will not fix things.

Sometimes it takes a little more than an occasional night out to fix a relationship that has gone downhill. Although you love each other, you are having trouble connecting on different levels and can’t understand how to make the other person happy.

What if the secret to improving your romantic relationships lies in improving your spiritual health? No, I’m not suggesting that you go on a couples retreat with your church.

That’s a nice idea, but to have a great connection with your partner, you need to understand your own beliefs about relationships. All of us have beliefs about how we should relate to the world and so it goes, with our partners.

We think that we have to behave a certain way to get love and positive attention. These spiritual beliefs often colour our physical world, and we operate based on them.

However, these same beliefs can also create distance between yourself and those you love. They seem like they are helping us get what we want, but actually they are creating the opposite.

Our beliefs cause us to manipulate reality and make it into the enemy. There are five major belief patterns that most of us can operate through.

Each belief intends to seek love and affection but can quickly turn into a “me-against-them” attitude and ends up backfiring on us. When we seek love and approval outside of ourselves, we always miss the mark.

Figuring out which belief is affecting your relationship is key to creating intimacy rather than a distance with your partner. Once you realise how you are sabotaging your relationship, you can start making positive changes that will bring you closer.

The Five Relationship Belief Types

The Resenter

In a relationship, this person is ready to offer special dinners, back rubs and do any favour before even asked. This person loves to give, hoping that he or she will receive love and approval in return.

However, if this person does not get their specific needs met, the Resenter will grow resentful and doubt the relationship. The Resenter will enjoy giving a little less and receiving a little more.

Making sure that he or she asks for what they need and being able to say no sometimes will help the Resenter feel appreciated without feeling taken advantage of.

The Rejecter

This person chases the illusion of perfection. The Rejecter requires not only him/herself but his or her relationship to be just right.

When life turns messy, the Rejecter is fixing it or pushing others away when he or she can’t. Letting anyone else see his or her shortcomings is inconceivable, and the Rejecter ends up rejecting others before they can judge them for their faults.

This person must relax more about his or her idea of perfection and know that others will not reject him or her based on superficial details. Allowing things to be “good enough” will allow the Rejecter to open up to others and let them know you love them, anyway.

The Controller

Although this person is capable, the Controller thinks that everyone else is inadequate. The Controller micromanages and distrusts others to the point they leave them with all the responsibility.

This confirms his or her suspicion that he or she can’t depend on anyone else, and the Controller pushes others away to avoid disaster. If this type can just let go of the reigns and trust someone else’s capabilities, the Controller will have more support and not feel so alone.

By accepting that there are several acceptable ways of doing things and that he or she can’t possibly be in charge all the time, the Controller will allow others to show their admiration and affection for him or her.

The Escaper

Because of
a belief that the real world is dangerous, the Escaper often finds him/herself retreating into a safer, daydream world. Because the Escaper spends more time checked out than present with his or her partner, the Escaper seems flaky and undependable and ends up isolated.

To cultivate a true relationship, this person needs to realise that he or she can cope with difficulty without retreating within him/herself. The Escaper will feel safer in this world if he or she can stay present long enough to see that others will support and love him or her in the real world.

The Taker

Someone who feels that he or she will never get enough frequently asks for too much from others. This person is constantly asking for things like attention, time, or emotions but never satisfied.

People get sucked dry and eventually push the Taker away, leaving him or her more depleted and empty. It is crucial for this type to be more self-sufficient and less demanding of their partners.

When the Taker realises that he or she has an infinite source of love already within, he or she will easily share it through his or her sweet nature, rather than demanding it from others.

In each of these scenarios, there is a desire for love and approval, but the inner beliefs of each type build a defence or barrier that produces the opposite effect. They are unintentionally pushing the other person away without realising.

When you can objectively see how your beliefs are keeping you disconnected from those around you, you will change them and be more open to a true relationship.

Deepen your spiritual connection with yourself and open up to the love that binds us all.

May you find the love within all things.

Alternative and Traditional Beliefs: Can They Coexist?

Alternative and Traditional Beliefs: They Can Coexist
Some people might have you believe that you have to choose either an alternative belief or a traditional one.

You can and should choose BOTH because they can coexist together quite nicely.

Complementary and alternative medicine and other alternative beliefs can coexist quite peacefully right along with traditional medicine and traditional beliefs.

Just because you are a devout Christian or a Muslim does not mean that you can’t dabble in some alternative medical treatments, such as guided imagery or even hypnotherapy.

These types of treatments complement traditional treatments.

No one should ever advise you to give up traditional treatments or to go off of your medication instead of an alternative therapy.

Most trustworthy practitioners will advise you to stick with standard treatments, and you should always share everything with your physician or health care provider.

Do You Think It's Mind Control?

Some might have you believe that therapies such as hypnosis are a version of mind control, but nothing could be farther from the truth.

No one can make you do anything that goes against your beliefs, and all hypnosis is self-hypnosis.

There is a shift in thinking underway that is growing every day.

Not only are alternative therapies and alternative beliefs becoming more popular, they are also becoming much more widely accepted even amongst those in the medical community.

This has become more of a trend since the National Institute of Health created its Office of Alternative Medicine in 1992 to examine popular techniques that might fall outside of traditional modalities.

Many of these alternative therapies and beliefs have been around for centuries, and they are not going away anytime soon.

People are warming up to alternative beliefs because they’re based on both science and tradition.

Some fields like chiropractic care offer a little of both because it bases the practice on manipulating the energy in one’s body to elicit healing.

Acupuncture also works with the energy in one’s body through certain pressure points, based on hundreds of years of tradition.

People make thousands of visits every year to herbalists, homoeopaths and other types of alternative treatments because alternative treatments have been around for centuries.

Coexistence is Bliss

Alternative treatments can coexist quite nicely with all kinds of traditional medicine, there are no competing interests. Many people are growing tired of traditional health care because it has become depersonalised.

Traditional modalities typically treat symptoms, and alternative therapies treat people before they get symptoms.

Alternative beliefs and other types of treatment give people hope. If you suddenly get diagnosed with cancer, alternative therapies can give you the hope you need.

The mind has great power, and there is no telling how strong it can be for helping people overcome illness and disease.

People want to believe there is more to life than simply popping pills and going back and forth to the doctor.

Alternative beliefs help people help themselves, and they are empowering. Just because you grew up Catholic or Protestant, it doesn’t mean you can’t pursue an alternative belief.

The point of medicine is to heal, and we can say the same thing for alternative beliefs and alternative therapies.

Many modern day hospital and treatment centres are embracing alternative therapies with some even creating what they call Laughter groups.

Scientifically, laughter has shown the ability to boost endorphins or the body’s feel-good chemicals, so there is no telling how powerful it could be to help someone overcome an illness.

Alternative therapies often focus on mind-body techniques, and they can be very empowering. Many of them work with the whole person, helping one tap into their own ability to heal.

This holistic care can be very effective because the mind can be a powerful healing mechanism.

Balance is Everything

When you are out of balance, your body rebels, often creating sickness and disease. Many alternative beliefs help people regain this precious balance.

In many senses, everything is energy, and you can use the energy of your own mind and body to help elicit healing.

Alternative and traditional beliefs blend nicely, much like cream and sugar.

Each offers a unique blend of care, but together, mixed with a cup of coffee or tea, they can become even better.

Alternative therapies are here to stay, and they are not a threat to traditional medicine or traditional beliefs.

People will always have their traditions, and that is a good thing. Alternative beliefs help spice up these traditions, creating new ones.

Alternative therapies give people hope and sometimes hope is all we need.

Yoga and Meditation - The Perfect Duo

Yoga and Meditation - The Perfect Duo
When was the last time you felt in connection with your body and mind?

Has it been a while since you’ve loved your strong body, fit arms, legs, and abdomen? When was the last time you took a deep breath to improve your sense of calm?

Have you ever been able to decrease your stress levels at the drop of a hat?

If your self-confidence, abs, or even your positive thoughts could use a pick-me-up, now is the time to bring yoga and meditation into your life.

It will lift you up in a way that no other exercise can.

Yoga as a daily practice has the power to eliminate all the stress from your life and put your body and mind back in harmony.

Bend backwards, forwards and sideways, yoga isn’t a second-rate exercise.

It can improve your flexibility and your balance and can tone you unlike any other workout can. It’s not for wimps.

As great a total body workout as yoga is, why do you need anything else?

Meditation, besides your yoga practice, can heighten your mind and body workout like no other.

It’s the perfect duo for tranquillity, strength training and a peaceful life!

Meditation allows you to focus on your breath, improve your state of mind and gives you the opportunity to centre, focus and align yourself with your inner knowing and voice of reason.

Feeling like you don’t have a minute to catch your breath, and you’re desperate for some time to yourself?

Give yourself 30 minutes to practise some yoga poses, breathe deeply and focus on a quiet mind, and in just half an hour, you’ll feel like a brand-new you.

Practiced together, yoga and meditation won’t just get you in great shape, improve your focus, and tone you from head to toe.

Yoga, along with a meditative practice, will improve your happiness, your sense of calm and well-being and will help you improve your mindset while improving the quality of your life.

Pair the two together and that lower back pain that you can’t seem to shake will gradually dissipate.

Your bad dreams that prevent you from having energy throughout your day will stop.

Your smoking habit, or caffeine addiction, will become easier to manage, and even your stubborn belly fat will appear less noticeable.

Within weeks of meditation yoga, that flat stomach you’ve been working so hard for will become yours - no fad diet will be part of that workout plan but just deep breathing, sun salutations and slow and controlled exercise.

Quieting your mind is one of the key ingredients of a yoga session, but when you focus on your breath while improving the stance of a tree, cow or child’s pose (three of the best poses for stress relief and relaxation!), you’ll become larger than life.

You’ll become strong. Determined. Focused.

A fearless leader for your life and so many other lives you touch. You’ll also become committed to the real you that lies underneath all of your many responsibilities.

Once you work on improving yourself in a yoga and meditation session, this poignant exercise will help you remember all that you are and can be.

The Powerful Duo

Are you forgetting where you placed your car keys more often than you used to?

Do you struggle to remember other people’s names, or have you stuck your foot in your mouth one too many times?

Do you find difficulty in getting your work done on time or getting to work on time?

The powerful combination of yoga and meditation can provide you with the answer!

What’s the real answer to your daily struggles?

It could be the lotus pose, alongside some relaxation breathing exercises and a clear, open mind.

If you’re tired of running on the treadmill every day at the gym or sprinting up and down your street, change up your routine and get the same results as a high endurance workout can give you.

Slow down, breathe and get on all fours in a cat pose.

As you do, focus on the movements of your stomach as you inhale and exhale.

Enjoy the freedom of not having to think about your secretary’s poor work performance, what you’ll do about helping your toddler to become better mannered, or how you can eat better.

Everything that you need to know is inside of your quiet mind.

It’s inside of your breath, and with each transition from yoga pose to yoga pose that you make, you’re one step closer to becoming the happy self that you long to be!

Whether you stand, sit or bend yourself backwards into a body-strengthening exercise, yoga and meditation together can combat stress, memory problems, fear and even pangs of loneliness.

As the perfect combination for total health and serving as a preventive measure to combat illness and disease, deep breathe your way to increased flexibility, while you downward dog your way to better balance and agility.

Simple Strategies to Encourage Others Into the Realm of Spiritual Healing

Simple Strategies to Encourage Others Into the Realm of Spiritual Healing

Have you ever tried spiritual healing and have it just blow your mind?

Perhaps you solved a health issue or emotional problem. You think of all the people in your life that should do it too and can’t wait to hand out business cards.

When you have an amazing experience, you can’t wait to tell someone about it. You want everyone to share in your excitement and receive the benefits for themselves.

So what can you do to get them to try it? It’s important to respect the fact that everyone is different, and that you can’t really know what is best for someone else.

Try to reserve your personal enthusiasm, so you don’t seem overzealous or outright weird.

With all the misconceptions about spiritual healing, it is not surprising that it may be difficult to convince someone of its benefits.

They don’t understand all the bells, chanting or out-there concepts and are reluctant.

Sharing your experience may be helpful to help someone understand what goes on in a healing practice, but it may not sell them on the concept.

It is often intimidating to tread in unknown territory, especially if they are hurting.

These are some helpful strategies to introduce others to the realm of spiritual healing.

The alternative nature of this practice can be unconventional and may make some people skeptical. Even though you love it, someone else may not.

If you truly have the other person’s best interests at heart, it can’t hurt to offer some help.

It’s important to share your opinion, but be sure you are honouring their choices and beliefs.

You Don’t Have to Believe Anything

Many people live by the concept, “You have to see it to believe it.” When something is outside of their sensory perception, they rationalise it away, thinking that it can’t be true.

They can also suspect the unfamiliar. The realm of spiritual healing operates on the concept of “You have to believe it to see it.”

This can be a difficult mindset to adopt, but that’s fine. You don’t have to believe that this will help you, but the results may change your mind.

There is also the worry that you have to change your religious beliefs to see a spiritual healer.

This is not the case, and you should avoid anyone who forces beliefs on you, as they are operating through the ego, not the heart.

Lead by Example

If there are practices that you think are amazing, then do them for yourself. When someone asks you why you look so great, you can share what you’ve been doing.

But don’t expect that it can help them too. It is so easy to get enthusiastic about something that has offered positive results, but not everyone feels the same as you.

Telling someone that your way is better or suggesting that they need fixing or changing can really offend them.

Just because something worked for you doesn’t mean it will work for someone else. The only thing you can control is your own well-being, so concentrate on that.

Your friends know where to go if they want more information.

Hold their Hand

It is always nice to have someone there to hold your hand in the doctor’s office, and the same idea may be helpful in the healer’s office.

Trying something new can be a little nerve-wracking. There may be misconceptions or expectations that make your friend uncomfortable, and a familiar face can let them know it’s OK.

If you survived, they will too.

Don’t Be Pushy

When you have a positive experience, it is only natural that you would want to share it. You want everyone in your life to reap the benefit that you have found with a healer, and you won’t take no for an answer.

Most of the time, people don’t like to be told what to do, especially if it’s out of their comfort zone.

You honestly can’t know that it is the right thing for them, so don’t push it. It’s OK to share your story, just don’t expect everyone to follow.

Give Them Space

Although someone could really enjoy a healing session, they may not be ready to receive it. The healing journey is a very private experience, and no one should feel pressured into anything.

Let them know you support them and will be there if they need you. It is up to them to decide what is best, and sometimes a little space is all it takes.

Know that it is not your business, and just be their friend.

Nothing to Lose

When someone goes to a spiritual healer, there are usually very few negative side effects. There may be some honest moments that make you squirm, but it’s a good bet that you’ll leave feeling better than when you arrived.

It might take a leap of faith to get on a healing table, but what if it’s not really well, real

If you are getting emotional support or end up feeling better, then what is the harm in believing? You can’t really know, so it can’t hurt to believe.

It can only help the subject of spiritual healing when someone wants to offer positive experiences, and it is important to help others when you can.

However, you don’t want to alienate yourself while doing it.

Often when a person really wants someone to do something “for their own good,” it really means that they are uncomfortable seeing the other person suffer.

Be mindful of your motives. It could be you who needs the healing.

Uncover the Hidden Power of the Subconscious Mind

Uncover the Hidden Power of the Subconscious Mind

What if you could program a computer to create more success and happiness for yourself?

You absolutely can, and you don’t even have to buy any software. The subconscious mind is like an internal computer you can use to help you achieve the life of your dreams.

The way to program your subconscious is through meditation and visualisation techniques. These simple exercises are easy and promote well-being on many levels.

Don’t doubt the effectiveness of what I’m about to share with you, or you’ll be blocking the possibilities right from the start.

In fact, you are already programming your mind; you just don’t realise it. Every belief that you tell yourself becomes your experience, whether or not you want it.

Your subconscious doesn’t have a filter to keep out bad thoughts, so you need to monitor your thinking.

Even though you really want to be rich and famous, you probably have some doubts about what you can achieve. The more you entertain those doubts, the more they come true.

Thoughts like, “I’ll never have enough money” will cause just that, not enough money.

Many people report using visualisation techniques to manifest success, happiness and even improve their golf game, all by just thinking about it. That’s it.

If you can train your mind to imagine it and even have a virtual experience of it, the more likely you are to get it in real life.

This is a very simple process that doesn’t take much time, special equipment or a lot of instruction.

It is easy to do almost anywhere and when you see results, you’ll be hooked.

Do the following once a day for best results:

* Set aside a time and place for a meditation practice. Turn off mobile devices and close the door. Let your family know that you need a few minutes of quiet time.

* Create some sacred space. Perhaps you light a candle or some incense. Place crystals or flowers in front of you for a gazing point. It can be simple, yet special.

* Write your intention. Be extremely detailed and specific about what it would be like to have it and why you want it that way.

* Sit in a comfortable position. This can be on a cushion on the floor or in a chair as long as you are not straining or distracted by the position. Keep your back straight and chin tilted slightly downward.

* Rest your hands gently in your lap. You may nestle one palm above the other, face up. If you know a specific hand position or mudra, you may do that instead.

* Close your eyes. Turn your thoughts inward and try to let the outer world fade away.

* Breathe deeply through your nose. Inhale fully, and then slowly exhale, either through the nose or mouth. Repeat this six times.

* Allow your thoughts to settle. This may take several minutes or even longer if you have never meditated before. You’ll notice that all of your worries and random thoughts from the day will come to the surface. Just observe them for a moment and let them go.

* Refocus your attention on your breath if you get distracted by your thoughts. The idea is to break the rambling thoughts by reminding yourself through breathing that those thoughts are not happening. You may have to do this frequently, especially in the beginning.

* When your thoughts have quieted down, think of the intention you have focused on. See yourself achieving your goal step by step. Try to create the experience in your mind as fully as you can, down to the last detail.

* It is important to keep your thoughts positive, as if your intention is true right now. Entertaining doubtful thoughts or limitations are detrimental to this process. You must believe it to achieve it.

* Once you have visualised every detail and feeling that comes with your intention, release it into the world. Reaffirm your intention throughout the day and behave as though it has already come true.

* Finish your meditation time with a moment of gratitude for all that you do have and watch for little ways that your visualisation is becoming more real throughout the day.

Practice Makes Perfect

This practice takes time to operate in your life. Creating a vision board or writing your intention where you can see it every day will keep your thoughts on track.

Using an affirmation like “I’m achieving ____ every day,” will reaffirm your intentions.

When you let the surface thoughts dissolve and program your intentions for success, there will be little signs showing you how to achieve your goals.

Listening to your inner wisdom rather than the worrying and negative thoughts will show you the way.

The information you need may not come in a big, obvious message from the intention fairy, however.

It is more likely that you will get little nudges along the way, like a trail of breadcrumbs. The more you reaffirm your intentions, the more clues you will find.

Be willing to trust your inner voice and do what feels authentic and positive for yourself.

You will reach your potential when what you are doing is full of good energy and emotions rather than doubt or negativity. They are the signals that you are on the right track.

OK, so if it’s that easy, then why isn’t everyone rich and happy?

This technique is difficult for our modern lifestyle, as we have some difficulty clearing our racing minds and sitting still with our inner selves.

Daily practice is the only way to see results, so be patient and watch as it unfolds for you.

May you reap the rewards of your good intentions.

Guess What? You Can TALK Your Way out of Any Sticky Situation!

Guess What? You Can TALK Your Way out of Any Sticky Situation!

There are two ways to talk to others, and knowing which method is best to communicate in can help you leverage your personal and professional success and soar in new directions you thought were impossible.

Do you talk persuasively or abrasively?

Do you occasionally offend others or forget important dates (birthdays, anniversaries or deadlines at work), or do you remember key facts that can impress colleagues and strangers alike?

Everywhere you go, there are your relationships. You have a relationship with your parents, siblings, children, partner or spouse, teachers, coworkers, and your boss.

With each relationship comes the responsibility to talk, listen, and decode what they are saying.

In the same way, it’s vital to talk, listen and express yourself in a way that won’t be offensive, rude or confusing to others.

Represent yourself in the best, most attractive way by getting yourself out of tricky and sticky situations with some tips to strengthen how you talk and even walk.

Do you speak and make your point while persuasively redirecting people to think how you think and do what you want them to do?

Or does it seem like you’re always the one being picked on, poked fun at and told what to do and how to act?

Do you make people feel good after talking to you or feel less-than-enthused about your interaction?

Most of all, after you talk to someone - your boyfriend/girlfriend, the grocery store clerk or your boss, do you leave things on a good note or a bad one?

Been Telling Pork Pies?

The possibility for a sticky situation to arise between you and a coworker, spouse or boss is around every corner, but learn how to talk your way out of any argument, disagreement or touchy topic, and you’ll know what so many others don’t.

Were you recently caught lying to a coworker and you’re desperate to mend broken fences?

Did you recently forget your wedding anniversary?

Do you wish that you could ever erase an uncomfortable conversation with your in-laws or boss that did more damage to the relationship than good?

Don’t you want to listen actively, discuss, and express yourself to others as if you have nothing to lose?

If you want to learn how to be an effective speaker, persuade others to be in agreement with you and even repair recent damage done, then apply the following tips as outlined here and learn the art of escaping any sticky situation with ease!

Tip #1: Think One Step Ahead

We are all egocentric by nature. Without it, we couldn’t survive as a species.

However, just think how stepping outside of yourself and putting yourself in someone else’s shoes can help you become a winner of a sticky situation.

For example, if you found yourself unable to remember what today’s date signifies (after your spouse has made it clear it is, in fact, an important day), but you know that should you guess wrong, you’ll upset your partner, try not saying anything at all.

Sometimes, the best way to get out of a sticky situation is by exuding more mystery and less talk.

This will give you a way to buy some time and allow them to think that you know what the important date is or what the answer to their important question may be.

You’re not lying, and you’re not misleading them.

Instead, you’re allowing yourself to use your body language to eliminate disagreement over a hot topic.

Tip #2: Become Outcome-Focused

Every social situation holds the risk of turning into a sticky situation.

You can’t prevent the occasional difference of opinion of offending someone from time to time, focus on your goal, and talk with an outcome-focused frame of reference.

For instance, if you’re at a work party and you’re speaking to a group of coworkers and subordinates, a “touchy” subject can easily occur.

Although you’re at a party, you’re still in a work environment, which means: Have your guard up.

Don’t reveal too much about your personal life. Be professional.

If a coworker confronts you in a social situation (or even at the office during the work week), avoid a sticky situation by reverting your attention to the larger goal.

Let’s say you upset her by bouncing a good idea off of her original idea. As a result, your boss loved it, and you scored big with him.

Unfortunately, your coworker claims that you “stole” her idea and you wouldn’t have gotten ahead in today’s meeting if it wasn’t for her.

How do you handle this career “hot potato”? By quickly focusing on a positive outcome.

Don’t react and add “fuel to the fire,” which will cause future hostile interactions between your coworker and yourself.

Don’t play the “blame game,” which involves blaming the other person for what he or she didn’t do.

This won’t get you far and is one of the worst persuasion tactics out there.

Instead, redirect the conversation to something flattering, and suggest opening up an opportunity soon for the two of you to knock heads together and come up with a killer idea to present to your boss...together.

You’ll do two things effectively here.

First, you’ll surprise her with your positive suggestion to merge and both earn credit for a job well done.

Second, you’ll show her that you aren’t like everyone else and that you are a true team player.

Tip #3: Distraction!

Distraction is one of the most powerful tools to get out of a tricky situation and one of the easiest to implement.

You don’t have to be a skilled motivator or even an experienced debater.

All that you need is a creative thought process, so that you can distract a person whose name you forgot or a discussion with a loved one that you don’t want to get into.

Have you ever put your foot in your mouth and accidentally suggested that someone was pregnant (but wasn’t)?

Have you ever told someone you thought they were 50 years old, when they were only 40? Ouch.

Sticky situations can be difficult to recover from, but when you always think once step ahead and have a “distraction plan”, you’ll be able to talk your way out of an insensitive comment within minutes.

If you forgot someone’s name (and realise this just as they come up to greet you) head right into a compliment.

Replace the typical greeting of, “Hi, (name). So nice to see you!” by commenting with enthusiasm on her beautiful top, skirt, or purse.

Distraction is a wonderful way to develop a Plan B, and without insulting or harming your relationship with them.

It doesn’t matter if you face a sticky situation at work, at home or in the company of a stranger that you just met.

With some planning and creative problem solving, you can become a master talker and just when you need the skill most!

Is It Right to Teach Kids Alternative Beliefs?

Is It Right to Teach Kids Alternative Beliefs?

Do you think it’s right to teach your children about alternative beliefs?

There are different schools of thought on this, and to answer this question, we have to first clarify what it is you are trying to teach them.

While you may not want to get into much detail for things like Wicca or tarot cards, it can be very empowering to teach children about meditation or even self-hypnosis or yoga.

Everyone can use a little more confidence, especially children. Teaching your children how to boost their confidence or how to feel better about themselves is a good thing and something adults should do.

Kids struggle with the same things adults do. Just because kids may be younger or shorter doesn’t mean they shouldn’t learn some alternative theories that can help them do well in life.

You could teach your children how to learn better, feel better and even how to eliminate shyness and anxiety, all using simple tools like meditation or self-hypnosis.

Meditation, although considered somewhat of an alternative belief, is very empowering, and it is a wonderful stress management tool.

Meditation can help release those layers of stress and anxiety that often build up, and it is a great tool to use to help you sleep.

Practices Going Back Over 5,000 Years

People have been using tools like meditation for thousands of years, and in some cultures, it is not even considered an alternative belief, but a way of life.

Yoga is another one of these things that some consider an alternative belief, while others do not.

Many schools are even incorporating simple yoga practices into their curriculum, but it upsets some parents.

Some people consider Yoga a mind-body tool or spiritual tool, while others consider it nothing more than a beautiful exercise.

People have practiced yoga for over 5,000 years, dating as far back as the mid-third millennium.

Some styles of yoga focus on asanas or poses, while others might incorporate a simple meditation or breathing exercise.

Because some people consider meditation an alternative belief, they are against using yoga in schools.

Many would argue that yoga is merely a great exercise because it can help your children focus better and appreciate their bodies better.

Visualisations are another powerful tool, and they work great for kids. Children know how to use their imagination, and they are actually quite skilled at it.

Teaching your children some basic visualisation tools can help them learn better, feel better, and gain more confidence.

You could teach your children how to envision themselves doing better in school or teach them how to feel more confident standing up in front of the class.

Many famous athletes use tools like visualisation to help them improve performance, and your children can do the same.

Anyone who has children in sports activities knows that it’s important to have confidence in whatever you do, and sometimes confidence is in the mind.

Using a tool like visualisation, kids can visualise themselves playing better games, running faster, building endurance and even winning more.

These things are all important for children to learn, and if you don’t teach your children about them, they could miss out on some valuable tools.

Challenging The Myth Makers

Alternative beliefs get a bad rap because people don’t know enough about them.

What they do know are the myths they have heard over time; myths that are just that - myths.

Myths are not truths, and knowledge is power. If you want to set your children up for success, then there are some wonderful alternative tools you can use to empower them.

Many therapies once considered alternative are making their way into the modern field of science.

Alternative techniques, such as acupressure and even Reiki, can be very beneficial to children, especially those who may suffer from ongoing pain or those experiencing a chronic illness.

Alternative therapies are slowly working their way into modern life, and we have come full circle.

One thing I do know is that most parents would go to the ends of the earth for their children, and alternative therapies might just be the first thing you think about if a doctor diagnosed your children with a devastating illness.

Whether it is meditation, yoga, Reiki or even self-hypnosis, there is absolutely nothing wrong with teaching your children certain alternative therapies.

Everything is a Matter of Choice

You can still use good judgment and steer them away from therapies or beliefs in which you may not believe in or use much, but knowledge is power.

Teaching your kids about alternative ways of thinking can expand their horizons and open up their minds.

Our children are the future of tomorrow, and our children will most likely be taking care of us one day.

It makes sense to treat them with respect and to teach them all that you can teach them. You just might discover a method or therapy that can help your child be the very best they can be.

That is what everyone wants for his or her kids, anyway.

Could an Energetic Breakthrough Be the Answer to Your Love Woes?

Could an Energetic Breakthrough Be the Answer to Your Love Woes?
Conquer love once and for all
One of the largest issues that couples face in relationships is the inability to communicate, which can quickly lead to separation if left unchecked.

If you ever feel you and your partner are just passing ships in the night, you need to do more than just talk. True communication with your partner involves your whole energy field.

We are constantly relating to each other through our energy field and body language. You can always tell if a couple is fighting based on their physical cues.

Are they facing each other, sitting far apart or sending energy daggers across the room? Because we are interacting with one another on more than just verbal or physical levels, it’s important to be aware of our energetic relationship with our partner.

Saying you’re sorry after a fight will fall short if you are still sulking and withholding your energy from that person. Being aware of your energy connection to another person can help you interact with them in a more productive way.

Realising what the other person needs and meeting them halfway can go a long way to creating a mature, fulfilling relationship. Everyday life situations can get in the way, however, and even the most subtle things can cause an argument.

Mismatching Energy?

Not being on the same energetic page as your partner can cause much confusion and frustration, without either person really being aware of what is happening on that level.

Let’s say you come home after an intense business meeting and find a long list of tasks that you need to do before you relax. You’re still in work mode.

Then your partner comes home after working out and indulging in a long steam at the gym and is feeling relaxed. You feel like giving orders, while your partner is ready to wind down.

If your partner wants to move things into the bedroom, how will you respond? Work mode and play mode comprise very different vibes, and if you’re not on the same page, you’ll likely refuse their advances and get back to business.

It’s easy for your partner to feel rejected at this point and for things to escalate into an argument. Soon, you’re sleeping on the couch and aren’t even sure how you got there.

With each partner feeling hurt and confused, you push each other further apart. The solution lies in your energy field, also called the auric field.

Your unique energy blueprint contains the energy patterns that reveal our relationship tendencies, and with practice, you can learn to work with these patterns to improve the quality of your relationships.

The Power of Chakras

There are different psychological states of mind governed by the energy centres of the body, called chakras.

If a certain chakra is more active than others, you will react to your world through the lens of that energy centre.

For instance, if you are in work mode and are operating through the energy of the third chakra which encourages linear thinking and mental concepts, it will focus your experience in the boardroom i.e. practical and efficient.

This is the specific use of the energy from that particular chakra.

However, if you bring that same energy into the bedroom, the results may not be so successful, as romantic activities need a little more groove and a less business.

When you want to relate to your partner on this level, the energy of the second chakra will help you be sensual and sink into pleasure, rather than treating your relationship like a project.

So how can we shift the energy of our chakras and use it to our advantage?

First, you need to know which mental and emotional states we associate with each chakra, and then you can start observing where you’re coming from.

First Chakra

Ensures your personal safety and survival. It’s between the legs at the base of the spine.

Second Chakra

Experiences your emotions, sexuality and creativity. You find it just beneath the navel.

Third Chakra

Gets down to business and solve mental problems. Rules the diaphragm and middle torso.

Fourth Chakra

Cultivates compassion and kindness. Lives over the heart area.

Fifth Chakra

Expresses yourself and receives nourishment.

Sixth Chakra

Connects with your intuitive nature and get inspiration from the divine.

Seventh Chakra

Plugs in to spirit and feels the oneness of the Universe.

Understanding the energies of each chakra can help us know which to activate in any situation. It is easy to shift the energy center to meet your needs.

You just need to put your attention on that area of the body and be aware of the quality of energy produced by that particular chakra.

To shift gears from work mode into romance mode, begin by simply realising where you are. Place your hands just below the rib cage (where your third chakra is) and breathe for a moment.

Acknowledge how it feels to operate from this centre. Then to move out of that mindset and into a more romantic mood, shift your attention to the area below your navel (second chakra), where your emotions and sexuality reveal themselves.

Place your hands here for a moment while breathing deeply and observe how it feels to centre your attention here.

Meeting Each Other’s Energy Centres

Recognising that your partner may come from this energy centre and consciously meeting them there is a huge step to connecting more intimately with each other.

Practice observing which chakra your partner favours, and you will understand more about what their needs are. Meeting your partner on a similar energetic level can be rewarding.

With a little awareness and practice, you can improve your relationships both at home and at work, and everyone will marvel at how you connect with others so easily.

I hope you find this perspective on energetic relationships useful.

4 Subconscious Mind Power Exercises to Unlock Hidden Creativity

4 Subconscious Mind Power Exercises to Unlock Hidden Creativity

How much of your brain power are you using?

Most people only use 10 percent of their conscious minds, and the subconscious controls the other 90 percent.

With a little effort, you can tap into all that unlimited potential. The subconscious mind is like the junk drawer of the conscious mind.

Everything gets thrown in, mixed up and will probably surface when you least expect it. However, there are some easy exercises that can help you find the creativity hidden beneath the random thoughts.

Because it exists beyond the constraints of the physical world, the subconscious mind can break all the usual rules and doesn’t have to conform to limits.

There is an unlimited quality to its nature, and it can prompt you to be innovative. Try these exercises when you feel stuck and uninspired or need to shake things up a bit.

They are perfect for setting intentions and working toward a goal or for getting creative ideas when the logical mind has struck out.

1. Stream of Consciousness

Something amazing happens when you put pen to paper. When using this technique, it is important to just let your thoughts flow without concern for grammar, spelling, being coherent or whatever.

Take some pressure off and let your subconscious rise to the surface. Turn off distractions. Sit comfortably. Set a timer for five minutes. Write without stopping until time is up.

Even if you “can’t think of anything to write” or “don’t think this is fun,” just write that and keep going. No one will see this anyway, so who cares?
You may be tempted you to use a computer or other device for this one, but there is a subtle expression that a keyboard can’t replicate.

The act of handwriting often has the power to bust through a mental road block and can unleash hidden thoughts and feelings.

2. Doodle It

When you’re feeling confused about a problem, get a pen and paper and start drawing. You need nothing special; a crayon and an old envelope will do.

Just get it out of your head and down on paper, a whiteboard or even a pavement. You can try to sketch out the elements of the issue you want to resolve. Putting it on paper allows you to see the situation more objectively.

Plus, you can stop thinking about it over and over because you can pin your thoughts down for a moment. Let your thoughts and emotions flow effortlessly and without judgment.

Draw furiously and slash the page with a big marker, or use swirling motions and a delicate calligraphy pen if that helps you express yourself.

Just draw something. Continue doodling for five to 10 minutes; then set it aside for a moment.

Close your eyes and take a deep breath. Then open your eyes and objectively look at your drawing.

What comes to mind? Has it revealed a pattern, theme or energy?

Keep your doodle where you can see it as you work. Let it speak to you and guide you with its special message.

3. Subtle Perception

When your creative juices are running low and you feel you’re getting nowhere, it’s a good sign that you need to take a break.

Let your linear rational mind rest and give your subconscious a chance to show you the solution.

Taking regular breaks is important for the creative process, and the human brain is most productive in 90-minute cycles.

Set a timer to remind yourself that it’s break time and intend to come back to work in a 15-30-minute period.

Be sure to change your surroundings when taking a break. Stepping outside for some fresh air is an easy way to reset your creativity.

Take a few deeps breaths, feel the sun/rain/snow on your face and just be for a moment. Take a quick walk around the block or do some light stretching.

Maybe you need to get a snack and drink some water. Don’t feel guilty or like you’re wasting time. Breaks will recharge your body, so that you can do more work.

Sometimes a mundane task can also unlock the flow of ideas. Switch from intense work to something less demanding and keep your focus on the task at hand.

When your conscious mind is occupied, you’ll be more receptive to the subtle messages of the subconscious. You’ll return to work feeling energised and inspired when you take a few small breaks throughout the day.

Besides more creativity and problem-solving ability, your efficiency and accuracy will increase and so will your job performance.

4. Bedtime Intentions

Setting an intention before you go to bed can be a powerful tool to program the subconscious. When you sleep, the conscious mind no longer runs the show, but the subconscious is in control all night long.

Because the subconscious mind does not operate under the restrictions of the physical world, there are no limits to what is possible.

You can be open to creative solutions and ideas and intend that they will emerge when you’re awake. Take five minutes before bedtime to write a question or goal.

Be clear and specific about what you need and then release it to the subconscious. Intend that you will wake rested and centred and ready to receive information or inspiration.

Get up the next morning and spend a few minutes reflecting on the night’s sleep. Did you dream? If so, write it down with as much detail as possible.

There may be a special message in it, or you’ll get a gut feeling about what to do. The information may not be readily available the moment you wake up.

Be open and mindful for subtle clues from your subconscious during the day. You may experience it as a knowing or a feeling, so trust your emotions and hunches.

Often the subconscious reveals its secrets to us when we’re relaxed.

These exercises require the conscious mind to take a backseat, allowing the subconscious to speak to us. I encourage you to try these exercises and watch what happens.

Keep those creative juices flowing, unlock the power of your subconscious mind, and discover results you never would have thought possible with The Millionaire’s Brain.

Procrastination: 7 Causes, 7 Cures

Procrastination: 7 Causes, 7 Cures

Does procrastination ever stop you from doing what you really want to do with your life?

Maybe you want to get in better shape, go back to school, start your business or start investing money for the future.

You can always do it tomorrow, right?

But then tomorrow comes, and you don’t feel like doing it again and so goes the sad saga of procrastination.

When does it end?

If you’ve been wondering about this, here are seven causes of procrastination and seven cures that will help you put an end to procrastination today.

Cause #1: No Written Plan

You’ve probably already heard that old adage: failing to plan is planning to fail.

If you don’t have a written plan to guide you through something step by step, uncertainty will paralyse you.

The writer Mark Twain once said: “The best way to do something great is to start now, and the best way to start now is to make a written plan, break it into small steps and start on the first step now.”

Not bad advice, and this is the first cure for the disease of procrastination: Follow Mark Twain’s advice.

Cause #2: Buying Your Own Baloney

Every time you tell yourself you will do something that you don’t end up doing, you’re lying to yourself.

But that’s not the main problem ... the problem is that most procrastinators really believe that they WILL take action, just not now.

If they don’t take action now, there’s always tomorrow.

The cure for this is to stop believing yourself when you say, “I’ll do it____,” and instead work on a plan for starting to fulfil your commitment right now.

Cause #3: Approval Addiction

Many times, the problem with procrastination has nothing to do with not following through.

Instead, the problem is with making a commitment that you don’t really want to fulfil just so you can please someone else.

It might feel very good to tell someone yes and terrible to tell them no. But if you end up going back on your commitment later, you’ll eventually burn your bridges with that person.

The cure for approval addiction is to exercise your “no” muscle.

Practice saying no to things you know you won’t follow through with.

Don’t say “I’ll think about it” or “I’ll get back to you,” because this is just verbal procrastination.

Instead, get comfortable saying no ... and when you do, your “yes” will be much more valuable.

Cause #4: Perfectionism

This is without a doubt the leading cause of procrastination and the hardest one to overcome.

Perfectionism causes you to delay taking action or to take forever to complete something because of constant revisions and excessive planning.

I base this kind of procrastination on the fear that if something you do is not good enough; YOU aren’t good enough.

The cure for this is to separate your identity and sense of self-confidence from your performance, even when you do something well. This will take the edge off of perfectionism and keep it from paralysing you.

Cause #5: Too Many Options

You might have heard this saying: “If you chase after two rabbits you lose them both.”

If you’re someone who has diverse interests, you’ll struggle with procrastination until you learn to make and cultivate a certain degree of selective ignorance in your life.

Too many options can cause you to get stuck in analysis paralysis and never get around to focusing on one thing only.

The cure for this is to sit down and write out all the things that are most important to you, and to focus your attention only on the things which you have time and energy for.

Chances are, if you do this and get to work, you’ll have time to do the less important things later.

If not, at least you’ll have done something instead of being paralyzed by too many options.

Cause #6: Indecisiveness

If you’re in the habit of saying “Let me think about it” or of seeking others’ opinions for hours and hours before coming to your own decision about something, you’ve fallen into the habit of indecisiveness.

Get rid of that habit before it takes your dreams from you.

One of the most common character traits of highly effective people is that they are decisive and not influenced by the opinions of others.

The cure for this procrastination is to develop a set of criteria by which you can make all your decisions: decisions about your health, career, relationships and finances.

Having a long-term vision will help you build decisiveness by asking yourself the question: “Which will be the best decision for helping me reach my long-term goal?”

Cause #7: Sheer Habit

Too many people buy into the myth that procrastination is a character trait that is “in your blood.”

In reality, procrastination is nothing more than a habit. We can break and through consistent repetition of more preferable behaviours.

If you’ve fallen into the habit of procrastination, it’s likely that there are patterns in your life with this habit.

To Sum Up Then

Develop all the following habits:

  • Always have a written plan for something you want to achieve

  • Acknowledge that now is the only time you can ever live in

  • Get rid of perfectionism and accept that failure is a natural part of the learning process

  • Focus on a few key goals and trust in your own wisdom instead of being swayed by the opinions of others Now you know what you need to do.

Don’t think about it - just get started.
