Double Your Productivity: 7 Secrets

Double Your Productivity: 7 Secrets
Are you on the path to ultimate life success?

Why leave it to chance?

Do you think it’s possible to double your productivity as early as this month?

If you think this sounds impossible, just think about this: As you’re reading this, people who are no smarter or more hardworking than you are making millions of dollars a year, or even a month!

This means that the only possibility is that they know a few secrets about productivity which are enabling them to do a lot more in a lot less time.

Let’s look at seven secrets which you can start using today:

1. Smart Outsourcing

Most of the time-wasting activities in your life or your work are probably things that someone else could handle on your behalf.

These are all things that you need to consider outsourcing to someone else.

Even if you have to pay the person, consider the cost of the time that you would spend doing that task yourself.

If something is taking you 5 hours to do, and that’s 5 hours you could spend making $200, you’d be better off paying someone $50 to do it so you could focus on tasks which bring in more income.

2. Selective Ignorance

How much of your time do you waste consuming information that you’ll never use?

For example, surfing the web, reading and responding to emails, reading the news, etc. are all activities which can easily become time-wasting information addictions.

That’s not to mention that much of the information you’re exposed to is trying to take MORE of your time (or your money) or be very negative.

Cultivate the art of selective ignorance and see just how much more time and concentration you’ll save.

3. Batch Processing

Set aside time blocks during which you can complete all of your tasks in batches.

For instance, read and respond to emails between 2pm and 4pm on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and spend the last 20 minutes of the day organising for the next day.

Instead of multitasking, focus on one job at a time until you complete it.

This is effective - a recent university study revealed that people being interrupted by phone calls and email scored lower than people stoned…

Avoid this mind drain by creating time blocks for completing tasks in batches and eliminating the distractions from your life.

4. Prioritising Your Daily Activities

Every time that you start out your day, it’s crucial that you have your plan for it written on paper first.

Write your daily tasks in order of priority (use the above batching process) and according to your larger long-term goals.

This will help you keep the first things first and avoid getting bogged down in what Steven Covey calls “the thick of thin things.”

For best results, make your priority list at the end of each day, so you’ll be fully ready before the next day even begins.

5. Develop a Sense of Urgency

A strong internal sense of urgency compels one person to finish a task in less than half the time that it would take someone who had no sense of urgency.

Most people, by nature, allow a task to swell in complexity and size according to the time that they have to complete it, or they put it off and scramble to finish everything at the last minute.

A strong sense of personal urgency will compel you to start things as soon as possible and complete them long before your deadlines.

6. Start the Day Off Right

How you start off the day sets the pace for the rest of the day. If you start out checking emails, organising things on your desk and taking five trips to the bathroom, you lose more and more momentum with each task that isn’t directed towards completing your “meaty” task of the day.

Better to hit the ground running with tasks that require a lot of energy and focus.

This will also ensure that your later tasks are easier, less dreadful, and therefore less tempting to put off until the next day.

7. Recreational Time

Trying to go on and on taking no time off to rest your mind and your body is a certain way to stunt your ability to concentrate and to reduce your productivity.

Take 15-20 minutes a day for meditation to clear your mind and make sure you set one day a week aside for recreational activities.

TIP: Go through each of these seven steps, implementing one a day for the next week.

Overcoming Physical Limitations with Mental Beliefs

Overcoming Physical Limitations with Mental Beliefs
The mind is a powerful tool, and you can use it to overcome many things, including physical limitations according to some.

According to one Buddhist philosophy, the mind precedes all things, led by the mind and created by the mind.

There is much written about healing mental and emotional issues with the mind, but what about healing and overcoming physical limitations?

Is it possible to heal the body just by focusing the mind?

It may just be.

There are many ways you can use the power of your mind to help heal your body.

You can use visualisations, guided imagery, hypnotherapy, affirmations and even laughter, believe it or not.

The subconscious mind, which you can access through practices such as meditation and hypnosis, does not know the difference between reality and imagination.

So theoretically, you could program in just about anything.

With enough repetition and persistence, you could technically heal yourself from any ailment.

The biggest thing stopping most of us is our beliefs. We have a hard time believing that this is possible.

Our belief system is a house of many colours. We build it up with beliefs that have accumulated over a lifetime.

We store every emotion, every feeling and every experience we have ever had in our brilliant subconscious mind, and some even say, in our bodies.

If we can’t clear out the emotional debris, the layers continue to build, creating sickness.

The question remains as to if it is possible to overcome physical limitations using the power of your beliefs.

There is a connection between the mind and the body, but is it strong enough to heal us?

Scientifically, your brain has an amazing capacity to make you feel better because it can release powerful chemicals called endorphins, which are your brain’s feel-good chemicals.

Laugh Your Way to Good Health

We’ve all heard the quote that laughter is the best medicine, but what does it mean?

There has been a lot of research done on laughter and its ability to heal and restore the body and the truth of the matter is that laughter has many positive benefits.

Laughter is nature’s own pain reliever, and it may, in fact, be much more effective than any drug you could ever purchase.

Laughter can be a great stress-reliever and a pain reliever, and it is not just for fun because laughter can even enhance creativity and increase innovation.

Laughter releases those powerful endorphins, and they not only make you happier, they can also heal your body.

Norman Cousins, who wrote a book called “The Anatomy of an Illness,” developed a condition called Ankylosing Spondylitis.

The doctors estimated that Norman’s chance of survival was approximately 1 in 500, so not very good.

The story has it that Norman laughed his way back to health, which is both amazing and fascinating.

Norman took massive doses of vitamin C and dismissed himself from the hospital.

He then got an old-fashioned movie projector and a good supply of funny films.

The very first night he began watching the films, he could reduce his pain significantly and found he could sleep for several hours completely pain-free.

He continued this work for several weeks until finally he overcame his affliction.

This is an incredible demonstration of the power of laughter, and it should be an inspiration to us all.

Whether this is the placebo effect, it does not really matter because it worked.

Norman lived another 26 years until he died at 78 from heart failure.

It's Not Just Laughter Either

Meditation works similarly in activating a part of the brain in charge of the autonomic nervous system, which controls the body’s functions, such as blood pressure and digestion.

Stress impacts and even compromises these same types of functions, so taking time to modulate these functions can naturally ward off stress-related conditions, such as heart disease, digestive problems and things like infertility.

Practices like visualisation and even hypnotherapy work in much the same manner, helping one tap into the alpha brainwave frequency, which can help your body heal.

You could literally visualise your way to good health by taking time every day to picture yourself enjoying good health.

You could take it a step farther and visualise healthy, pink lungs and healthy tissue. You could also visualise tiny little creatures eating away at your disease, helping your body’s immune system heal.

The brain is a highly efficient system that connects to every single cell in your body.

When you visualise or even laugh, your brain releases powerful healing endorphins, and there is no limit to the magic it can create.

The best way to help yourself heal is to hold positive thoughts in your mind.

Whether you do this with laughter or with visualisations or even with self-hypnosis does not really matter.

What matters is that you believe with every fibre of your being that you can help your body heal.

When you believe that, you will laugh your way to optimal health and wellness!

Slightly unrelated but you can harness the amazing power of numerology readings to unlock unfound energy and success in your life.

10 Chakra Healing Insights for Beginners

10 Chakra Healing Insights for Beginners
The chakras, which are the energy centres that run through your body, can have a powerful impact on your life.

There are seven main chakras, and each has a unique meaning and purpose.

The chakras work in harmony with one another, so it is important to keep them healthy and balanced.

We design chakra meditations to heal and balance the energy of your body. Simple visualisations can do this, or through toning or music.

We align each chakra with a colour, a musical note and other types of things, such as crystals or symbols, all of which you can visualise or listen to through meditation.

These energy systems of the body can help you or hurt you, depending on how they are spinning.

To be healthy and happy, you must journey through each chakra to realign your energy.

Once you balance each chakra, the emotional issues should relieve the corresponding physical issues.

Understanding and balancing this energy will help you bring power and balance back into your life, enabling you to live a more joyful and healthy life.

Taking the time to balance your energy will help dispel negativity energy and attract those things into your life and into your magnetic field that you so desire.

Let’s look at some amazing healing insights that the chakras can bring to you now.

* Healing Insight Number 1: The root chakra can help you overcome addictions.

The root chakra, which helps you stay grounded and centred, can become unbalanced, causing you to abuse your body.

Instead of taking care of yourself, like a healthy well-balanced person would, you might eat too much, drink too much or chain-smoke.

Your body is your temple, and your root chakra may just be the key to a healthy body.

The root chakra governs your survival instinct and your basic needs, and if it is unbalanced, you may abandon ship and neglect your precious body.

The root chakra can also help you regain vitality and strength.

* Healing Insight Number 2: The sacral chakra can help you awaken your sexuality.

The second chakra, also known as the sacral or spleen chakra, is in charge of your sexuality.

If this chakra becomes blocked or stuck, you may feel sexually repressed. This chakra can also cause frustration, tension and compulsiveness.

This chakra is the chakra of self-love and also of creativity, and it allows you to enjoy a sensuous and full life.

The sacral chakra can also help you overcome fertility issues and anything related to the sex organs.

* Healing Insight Number 3: The solar plexus chakra can help you feel more motivated and inspired.

The third chakra is your power center, and it can help you live your best life.

If you have trouble concentrating or have a hard time saying no to people, you may need to balance this important power chakra.

The solar plexus chakra can also help you overcome digestive issues and stomach ulcers.

* Healing Insight Number 4: The heart chakra can help you find true love. If you have trouble with relationships, you’re not alone.

The heart chakra is the centre of your energetic system, and it connects you to others through the emotion of love.

If this chakra is unbalanced, you may feel jealous, bitter, or even lonely.

Balancing the chakra of love can help you practise forgiveness and help you feel more compassionate.

This beautiful chakra, at the heart, is the seat of your soul and the centre of love.

The heart chakra can also help you breathe better, and it can aid in immune strengthening and cardiac issues.

* Healing Insight Number 5: The throat chakra can help you express yourself better and help you communicate more effectively.

The fifth chakra, the throat chakra, also governs anything related to your vocal chords or your thyroid.

The fifth chakra can also help you if you suffer from frequent sore throats or colds because balancing this chakra can help you better manage these issues.

This important chakra helps you to have a rich and creative life because it allows you to express yourself.

* Healing Insight Number 6: The third-eye chakra can help you overcome headaches.

This sixth chakra, also known as the brow chakra, is integral for good intuition and perceptiveness.

It also helps you overcome headache and vision problems.

This chakra is your connection to the spirit world and to your extrasensory perception.

* Healing Insight Number 7: The crown chakra can help you overcome depression.

The seventh chakra, known as the crown chakra or thousand-petal lotus, can help you tap into your higher self and help you overcome issues like depression.

It can also help connect you to angels and spirits.

* Healing Insight Number 8: Balancing the chakras can help you release the past and transform your life.

When you balance your chakras, you release things and emotions that no longer serve you.

Releasing these kinds of things can help you thrive, rather than merely survive.

* Healing Insight Number 9: Balancing your chakras can help you feel more confident and healthy in your own body.

When you feel self-confident, you can feel more comfortable with whom you really are, and you feel more comfortable in your own skin.

* Healing Insight Number 10: Healing the heart chakra can help you better manage immune disorders, such as chronic fatigue syndrome.

The heart chakra governs the circulatory system and anything related to the endocrine or the immune system.

Balancing your chakras can help you both achieve and maintain optimal health.

It might surprise you at how amazing you feel once you balance and clear your chakras.

Think Your Way to a Better You

Think Your Way to a Better You
Can you think your way to a better you?

Maybe. Thinking positively has a lot going for it!

According to the Law of Attraction, you reap what you sow: your thoughts become reality

The Law of Attraction states that whatever you focus on attracts to you. So if you focus on positive thoughts, you draw in positive things and positive situations.

If you focus on negative things, then the opposite happens.

There is some research in positive psychology that states that those who have a more positive and optimistic attitude often live longer and happier lives than their pessimistic counterparts.

So the answer is that you can, in fact, think your way to a better you, and here’s how.

Your subconscious mind creates your thoughts every hour of every day. Some of these thoughts are automatic and some are intentional.

When you drive a car, for example, you instinctively know how to drive it, and you don’t really have to think too much about the process itself.

Everything you do and say gets recorded, or rather imprinted, onto your subconscious mind, so it is important to program in healthy thoughts.

Your subconscious mind is like a sponge, soaking in knowledge and information.

Do You Still Expect The Worst?

We record everything we’ve ever been exposed to in our minds, and these are the same thoughts that create our world.

If you grew up in a hostile environment, with people criticising your every move, then a part of you still feels that criticism, and part of you still expects it.

Because it focuses your thoughts on criticism, you continue to create a hostile environment, even if you don’t consciously remain aware of it.

If you want to change the world around you, you must begin by changing your thoughts. Think about the thoughts you focus on throughout the day.

Are they positive, happy thoughts or negative, critical thoughts?

Do you wake up on the wrong side of the bed every morning or jump out of bed with a smile on your face?

Changing your thoughts sounds easy, but it can be a little challenging to do.

One of the easiest ways to think yourself to a better you is to create affirmations that reflect the life you want to live.

Affirmations are short, positive statements set in the present tense.

You can use them by repeating them in your mind or even saying them aloud several times during the day. You can also meditate and repeat your affirmations while you do so.

Combine this with some simple visualisations, and you have a recipe for success.

Let’s say, that you would like to manifest a better relationship.

One of the easiest ways to do so is to create some affirmations that reflect the state of mind that you would be in if you were a part of a healthy relationship.

You could create some short, simple statements and then repeat them in your mind as you picture yourself enjoying a healthy relationship.

You might create statements like, “I have all the love I need and desire,” or even, “All of my relationships are immensely satisfying.”

If you were looking for that perfect partner, you could say, “I enjoy a loving, healthy relationship,” or “My partner and I are deeply committed to each other.”

You could combine these affirmations with some visualisations and picture you and your new partner walking hand-in-hand or laughing and enjoying a date.

You are taking positive steps to help your mind attract this new partner.

Shift Your Energy

Your energy then shifts and you attract people into your life that complement and desire you.

Your subconscious mind, which you can be access during meditation or even self-hypnosis, does not differentiate between reality and imagination, so it manifests whatever it is you focus on.

You can use the same process to manifest a new job, a new house or even a new life. When you change that self-talk, you change your energy.

You can think yourself to a better you. You can build yourself up and create any kind of life you desire, you just have to believe you have the power to do so.

Combine that belief with some emotions, and you can literally transform your life in every way.

It’s also important to put some action into your plan because you will not manifest much of anything by sitting in an empty room daydreaming all day long.

It’s important to get yourself out there and start taking positive steps toward your goal.

By changing your self-talk, you will start changing your energy, which will change your level of motivation.

So chances are, you will feel motivated and inspired to go do things, anyway.

If you make a commitment to yourself to take 10-15 minutes out of every day to focus on this new intention, you can make some great strides toward a better life by becoming a better version of yourself.

So the truth of the matter is that you can think your way to a better life, and it is easier than you could have ever imagined.

How the Law of Attraction Really Works

How the Law of Attraction Really Works
How well is the law of attraction working for you?

If you’ve already seen the movie “The Secret” and all those super-successful people who seem to effortlessly attract what they want, you might think:

“There’s got to be more to it than just thinking.”

Well, guess what? There is!

I mean, surely you can’t just sit there and visualise what you want, turn yourself into a human magnet and watch it come into your life like magic.

So why are so many people talking about how effective the law of attraction is at manifesting what you want?

Because they understand something about how the law of attraction really works...

The Connecting Link

The law of attraction works because thoughts become things, but this doesn’t mean that thoughts of what you want will turn into the things you want.

Thoughts become beliefs, and beliefs become convictions which influence your actions. Those actions become results.

What results are we talking about? We’re talking about results consistent with the thoughts, which became beliefs, which became convictions, which became actions, which became the results.

Your thoughts are the “seeds” which you plant, and as you feed and nurture those seeds over time, they grow until they manifest themselves in actions.

As you know, a seed cannot produce something inconsistent with its intrinsic design.

As the Nazarene said: “You will know them by their fruit ... you can’t get grapes from thorn bushes and you can’t get figs from thistles.”

Your consistent thoughts will eventually manifest themselves in the results of your life.

The reason this doesn’t work for most people is because they forget about a little thing called time ... and that’s the key to making the law of attraction work for you.

What Season Are You In?

When you got up to make your breakfast this morning, you probably slapped something into the microwave, pushed a few buttons and within a few minutes had a nice hot meal.

However, that’s not how the law of attraction works with manifesting results in your life.

The law of attraction is a natural law, not a man-made idea. This means it’s subject to the same principles which all natural laws are subject too.

No amount of technology, willpower, belief or marketing will change this .... it’s an unchangeable reality of the universe which makes the law of attraction possible.

Remember, the thoughts that you “plant” when you’re practicing the law of attraction bring forth results the same way that a seed you sow grows into a plant.

This means you can plant, water, fertilise and nourish it for a long time before you even see it break ground.

This also means you can’t keep digging it up and planting something else every few hours or days.

Decide what you want, plant the seed and tend to it long enough for the law of attraction to do its job.

For most of us, the hardest thing to do is to decide what we want and to keep believing in it even when we don’t see immediate results.

Remember, it all begins with your thoughts ... so for a while that’s all you must go by.

Even if your actions seem contradictory to what you’re thinking, don’t give up.

As long as you keep planting the right seeds and following through with patience and consistency, you’ll reap a harvest in time.

Don’t forget to check out that news that everyone is buzzing about. It might just be the secret you are looking for to change your life.

How to Disagree without Arguing

How to Disagree without Arguing
People you interact with in life will disagree with you on at least a few things.

However, you probably also learned that it’s important to assert your own position without getting ensnared in a petty argument.

If you’re curious about the best way to disagree with someone without harming the relationship.

Here are six tips that you can start applying immediately.

1. Never Argue with a Fool

One of the most important ways to disagree with someone without causing an argument is to avoid interactions with people who argue just to argue.

If you can tell that someone is arguing a contrary opinion for the sake of engaging you in a debate, don’t waste your time. Acknowledge your own disagreement in the silence of your heart and move on.

People are seldom, if ever, persuaded by debating, and engaging someone who “just likes to debate” sets you on the same juvenile level as them.

There’s an old saying that goes “Never argue with a fool, because people watching from a distance may not be able to tell the difference.”

Remember this the next time someone disagrees with you and choose your battles wisely.

2. Focus on Understanding First

When someone argues with you, all they’re trying to do is get you to understand their point of view.

The problem is that many of us get confused and think if we affirm to someone that we understand them; we somehow agree with them.

The moment you focus on understanding others and showing to them you understand them, they’ll be much more likely to respect you ... even if you disagree.

3. Value the Truth above All

Sometimes, disagreeing with a person is not the best course of action. There will be times when you are wrong and the other person is right ... but your pride keeps you from admitting that you’re wrong.

The next time you find yourself in a discussion where you seem to disagree with the person, switch your focus and concentrate on making the point of the discussion a search for what’s true.

You never know what you might learn if you just learn to listen and focus on truth instead of on your opinion or the other person’s opinion.

4. Offer Your Opinion as “Food for Thought”

Instead of offering your opinion as being counter to the other person’s, offer it as “something to think about” instead.

This can be a very effective way of presenting your opinion without offending someone.

For instance, if someone tells you that their interpretation of something is _____, offer your view by saying something like: “That’s an interesting point, but here’s something else to think about ...”

This way, you’re affirming their viewpoints before suggesting yours, and you’re suggesting it as a question instead of a statement of truth.

5. Watch Your Tone

Everyone knows that the tone in which you say something speaks volumes, sometimes more than the statement itself.

Since it can be very difficult to read whether there is judgment, agitation, anger or arrogance in your own voice, practice recording yourself while you’re talking about something that you strongly disagree with.

Really take the time to describe why you disagree with it and listen to the recording after you’re done. It might surprise you at what kinds of hidden messages there are in the tone of your voice.

You’ll also become much quicker to correct your tone and to speak to people with respect, even when you’re disagreeing with them.

6. Know Your Motives

This is probably the most important thing you can do for relating with people whom you disagree with: know your motives.

Really stop and ask yourself whether you are disagreeing with the person or if you’re trying to be heard and understood.

Most of the time, people will continue to voice opposing opinions if they don’t feel that they are being heard.

If they continue to feel that they’re not being heard or understood, they sometimes start belittling the other person’s viewpoints just to “get back at them.”

Really search yourself and find out whether you are voicing your opinion for the sake of contributing to the interaction, or if you just want someone to hear you and understand you.

TIP: If you have strong opinions that are getting you into arguments with other people, it might be a good idea to find out why you feel so strongly about them.

Most often, defensiveness towards others is because of inner conflict. Working these kinds of things out can make your interactions with other people much better.

How to Meditate Like a Buddhist Monk

Did you know that only Theta State Meditation is like hypnotising your own mind, letting you reprogram your subconscious to be more positive, determined, and creative?

It’s the secret to success without hard work.

Considering the incredible emotional, mental and health benefits of meditation, how great do you think it would be to learn how to meditate like a Buddhist monk in less than a month?

If you think this sounds impossible, I’m about to give you a simple formula that will prove to you it is possible if you apply it over the next few weeks.

Days 1-5: Thought Awareness

The first step to practise effective meditation is noticing the thoughts in your mind.

Eventually you want to control and focus your thoughts at will, but this begins with noticing the predominating thoughts in your mind.

For the first five days, set aside 15 to 20 minutes a day to sit with your legs crossed on the ground and just pay attention to the thoughts that randomly come into your mind.

Don’t try to change them or force them in any direction.

Don’t analyse them and don’t think about whether you should be thinking of them.

Again, this is an exercise in raising your awareness of your thought process.

As you are doing this, keep your eyes closed and make sure you have nothing distracting you during the 15 or 20 minutes.

At the end of the five days, move immediately to this next step:

Days 6-15: Inducing the Trance State

For days 6 to 15, you will practise keeping your mind and body in what’s called the “hypnagogic state,” which is the deep meditative state between sleeping and dreaming.

Lie down flat on your back somewhere comfortable and bend your arms at the elbows so that your forearms are at a 90-degree angle to your torso.

This way, as soon as you doze off to sleep, your arms will fall and awaken you, keeping you suspended in the hypnagogic state.

As you are doing this, pay attention to when your body is about to fall asleep, because the goal of meditation is to put yourself in this state and stay there at will.

You’ll also find that random thoughts will come into your mind during this time; again, don’t worry about those just yet.

During these 10 days, you’ll be learning how to suspend yourself between sleeping and dreaming.

You might also experience “sleep paralysis” around the end of these 10 days.

Sleep paralysis can be scary and sometimes accompanied by hallucinations ... just know that this is normal and don’t be afraid of it.

Days 16-25: Thought Maintenance

Some Buddhist monks refer to thought maintenance as “tending the garden of your mind.”

What you will do is start acknowledging the random thoughts that are popping into your head by addressing them out loud.

For example: “I am thinking about what I had for lunch.” “I am thinking about a blue sports car.” “I am thinking about what happened today at work.” “I am thinking about my dog barking.”

What you’ll notice is that after enough practice doing this, acknowledging your thoughts will cause them to disappear from your consciousness.

As soon as a new one comes, address it and wait patiently for the next one.

Days 26-30: Deep Meditation

During the last five days, you ought to notice a stillness in your thoughts and a peace within your mind and body.

Remaining within this state for your entire meditation time will help you reap the benefits of meditation.

If you notice thoughts coming into your head, go address them as you did during days 16 to 25, and eventually your mind will become still.

TIP: Once your 30 days are up, make it a lifetime practice to meditate for 15 to 30 minutes a day.

This kind of meditation will bring health benefits that will increase your lifespan and help you gain greater self-control, concentration, and inner peace.

Let Go of the Guilt for Good

Let Go of the Guilt for Good
Do you ever get that guilty or “bad” feeling when you want to do something for yourself?

If so, you might realise that this feeling is keeping you from having more of what you want - or even from enjoying your life.

Well, thankfully you don’t have to suffer with this guilty feeling every time that you try to get ahead or to help yourself.

All you have to do is understand where the feeling comes from and what you can do to get rid of it.

The Root of Guilty Feelings

There are two kinds of guilty feelings: valid ones and invalid ones.

Valid guilty feelings are those you get when you do something that you know is out of alignment with your personal values.

Believe it or not, these kinds of guilty feelings are your best friends. They remind you you need to change your behaviour, and as long as you respond positively to them, they’ll pass quickly.

For example, if you’re teaching people that borrowing money isn’t a good idea, and that debt keeps people broke, but you’re running up credit cards, you will feel guilty until one of two things happens:

1. You are honest with yourself about the fact that you DO believe in debt, or,

2. You line up your actions with your behaviour.

Otherwise, you’ll go on feeling guilty because your actions are contradicting your personal values.

The problem is that the longer you go on this way, the more desensitised you get to guilt.

As a result, your level of self-trust breaks down. Before you try to get rid of guilty feelings, it’s a good idea to determine whether it’s valid guilt or invalid guilt.

If it’s valid, use it as motivation to align your behaviours with your true values. But sometimes the guilty feelings occur because other people are “making” you feel that way.

Your behaviours are out of alignment with *their* values.

They attempt to change your behaviours by convincing you you’re “selfish” for doing things for yourself or that you’re “irresponsible” because you aren’t living your life according to the same rules that they do.

The more you’re exposed to these kinds of people, the more you internalise the belief that they’re right when they say that you’re “selfish” or “irresponsible,” or whatever else they call you when they disapprove of how you’re acting.

Curing the Invalid Guilty Feeling

The cure for invalid guilty feelings is to realise that you’re not responsible for other people’s values, perceptions, and opinions.

You can’t “make” anyone mad or sad or disappointed in you; those are all things which are their responsibility and not yours.

The more you make yourself responsible for these things, the harder a time you’ll have of letting go of the invalid guilty feelings.

No one may tell you how to live your life or to make assumptions about what kind of person you are just because they don’t approve of your actions.

Make a commitment to live your life as you see fit and let other people deal with whether or not they like it, it’s not your problem.

Is It Really Me?

So make it a point to analyse your guilty feelings and ask yourself if they’re because of your own values or someone else’s.

If they’re because of yours, you know that you need to change.

If they’re because of someone else’s values, let that be their problem.

TIP: The guilty feelings will persist for a while even when you’re practicing the above strategy, but that’s just because the feelings take a while to catch up with changing your habits.

Be persistent, and the feelings will eventually catch up.

I just want to mention a cool form of hypnosis that allows you to control your mind - and the minds of others.

I know that sounds a little creepy, but it’s amazing how it can work and help you get what you want out of life.

Scientific Evidence of the Power of Visualisation

Scientific Evidence of the Power of Visualisation
Visualisation is a powerful technique for harnessing the Law of Attraction to realise your dreams.

You’ve probably already heard a lot about how powerful creative visualisation is in helping you to attract what you want.

Is there any scientific evidence behind all of this visualisation stuff, though?

If you’ve been wondering or even been skeptical about this, then this article has the answers you’re looking for.

How Creative Visualisation Works

With the principles behind creative visualisation, most of the confusion seems to come from the idea that you can think about something and cause it to happen.

Any reasonable person knows that you have to take action to make things happen.

The practice of visualisation has a direct influence on your beliefs, which have a direct influence on your actions. Those actions attract practical results to your life.

The speech and command center of your brain, which controls creative visualisation, connects to every nerve in your body.

Because of this, your thoughts, your spoken words and the predominating images in your consciousness send nerve impulses to your body that prepare it for specific actions.

As thoughts impress on your subconscious mind through the practice of visualisation, your brain becomes hard-wired to send nerve impulses to your body in harmony with the thoughts in your mind.

These patterns of thought also create neural patterns, or grooves in your brain which cause your thought energy to follow the same neural path, just as grooves cut in the ground cause water to flow in a certain direction.

As a result, repeated visualisations become nearly automatic patterns of thought, which are such a habit that they become subconscious.

Now, considering this, imagine just how much repeated visualisations will influence your actions, on both a conscious and a subconscious level, to follow through with actions that support the content of those visualisations.

So, now that you know this, how can you use creative visualisation to influence YOUR thoughts and produce positive results?

The Practice of Creative Visualisation

The following are four steps that can help you harness the incredible power of visualisation to achieve your goals:

1. Gain Control of Your Mind

Creative visualisation requires you to have control over your mind and your thoughts, which isn’t something you can just start doing.

It’s like lifting weights. It takes consistent training, and the greater control that you have over your thoughts, the more effective you’ll be in using your creative visualisations.

2. Decide What You Want

Creative visualisation requires consistency, or else the many options and images which you’re sending to it will confuse your mind.

Deciding what you want keeps you from changing your priorities and desires daily and helps you to develop a definite pattern for your thoughts.

3. Involve Your Senses

Effective visualisation takes more than just the use of your visual sense.

It’s important that you use auditory stimuli such as recorded affirmations, smells which remind you of your goal and other sensory input which will help you create a powerful image in your mind’s eye.

This is one reason it’s important for you to use creative visualisation as a part of a daily routine.

During it, you can use as many of your senses as possible to create strong impressions on your mind and body.

4. Be Consistent

Again, creative visualisation requires consistent training of the mind, just like exercising your body.

The moment that you slow down or stop, you’ll notice a decrease in your results.

It’s also important to remember that all you need is 15-20 minutes a day, as long as you’re consistent.

This time alone will be enough for you to create habits of thinking that will remain in your consciousness even while you’re not practicing visualisation.

Procrastination: 7 Causes, 7 Cures

Procrastination: 7 Causes, 7 Cures
Does procrastination ever stop you from doing what you really want to do with your life?

Maybe you want to get in better shape, go back to school, start your business or start investing money for the future.

You can always do it tomorrow, right?

But then tomorrow comes, and you don’t feel like doing it again ... and so goes the sad saga of procrastination.

When does it end?

If you’ve been wondering about this, here are seven causes of procrastination and seven cures that will help you put an end to procrastination today.

Cause #1: No Written Plan

You’ve probably already heard that old adage: failing to plan is planning to fail.

If you don’t have a written plan to guide you through something step by step, uncertainty will paralyse you.

The writer Mark Twain once said: “The best way to do something great is to start now, and the best way to start now is to make a written plan, break it into small steps and start on the first step now.”

Not bad advice, and this is the first cure for the disease of procrastination: Follow Mark Twain’s advice.

Cause #2: Buying Your Own Baloney

Every time you tell yourself you will do something that you don’t end up doing, you’re lying to yourself.

But that’s not the main problem ... the problem is that most procrastinators really believe that they WILL take action, just not now.

If they don’t take action now, there’s always tomorrow.

The cure for this is to stop believing yourself when you say, “I’ll do it____,” and instead work on a plan for starting to fulfil your commitment right now.

Cause #3: Approval Addiction

Many times, the problem with procrastination has nothing to do with not following through.

Instead, the problem is with making a commitment that you don’t really want to fulfil just so you can please someone else.

It might feel very good to tell someone yes and terrible to tell them no. But if you end up going back on your commitment later, you’ll eventually burn your bridges with that person.

The cure for approval addiction is to exercise your “no” muscle.

Practice saying no to things you know you won’t follow through with.

Don’t say “I’ll think about it” or “I’ll get back to you,” because this is just verbal procrastination.

Instead, get comfortable saying no ... and when you do, your “yes” will be much more valuable.

Cause #4: Perfectionism

This is without a doubt the leading cause of procrastination and the hardest one to overcome.

Perfectionism causes you to delay taking action or to take forever to complete something because of constant revisions and excessive planning.

I base this kind of procrastination on the fear that if something you do is not good enough; YOU aren’t good enough.

The cure for this is to separate your identity and sense of self-confidence from your performance, even when you do something well. This will take the edge off of perfectionism and keep it from paralysing you.

Cause #5: Too Many Options

You might have heard this saying: “If you chase after two rabbits you lose them both.”

If you’re someone who has diverse interests, you’ll struggle with procrastination until you learn to make and cultivate a certain degree of selective ignorance in your life.

Too many options can cause you to get stuck in analysis paralysis and never get around to focusing on one thing only.

The cure for this is to sit down and write out all the things that are most important to you, and to focus your attention only on the things which you have time and energy for.

Chances are, if you do this and get to work, you’ll have time to do the less important things later.

If not, at least you’ll have done something instead of being paralyzed by too many options.

Cause #6: Indecisiveness

If you’re in the habit of saying “Let me think about it” or of seeking others’ opinions for hours and hours before coming to your own decision about something, you’ve fallen into the habit of indecisiveness.

Get rid of that habit before it takes your dreams from you.

One of the most common character traits of highly effective people is that they are decisive and not influenced by the opinions of others.

The cure for this procrastination is to develop a set of criteria by which you can make all your decisions: decisions about your health, career, relationships and finances.

Having a long-term vision will help you build decisiveness by asking yourself the question: “Which will be the best decision for helping me reach my long-term goal?”

Cause #7: Sheer Habit

Too many people buy into the myth that procrastination is a character trait that is “in your blood.”

In reality, procrastination is nothing more than a habit. We can break and through consistent repetition of more preferable behaviours.

If you’ve fallen into the habit of procrastination, it’s likely that there are patterns in your life with this habit.

To Sum Up Then

Develop all the following habits:

  • Always have a written plan for something you want to achieve

  • Acknowledge that now is the only time you can ever live in

  • Get rid of perfectionism and accept that failure is a natural part of the learning process

  • Focus on a few key goals and trust in your own wisdom instead of being swayed by the opinions of others Now you know what you need to do.

Don’t think about it - just get started.

Bring Optimism into Your Everyday Life

Bring Optimism into Your Everyday Life
How important is it really to be a diehard optimist? Isn’t it true that you can’t be positive about everything and that sometimes you have to just face reality?

This is a very interesting question because it gives a hint as to the importance of being an optimistic thinker instead of a pessimistic thinker.

The Question: Who Is More Realistic?

You might have heard the saying: “We don’t see the world as it really is, we see it as we are.”

Whenever you are describing your view of the world, whether you’re being optimistic or pessimistic, you’re not describing the world as it really is - you’re describing the world as you see it.

So who is more realistic, the optimist or the pessimist? The answer is that both of them are creating their view of reality according to how they think.

This view of reality is influencing their beliefs, their actions and the results in their life.

The question isn’t whether the optimist or the pessimist is more realistic; the question is what kind of life do you want to live?

If you take on an optimistic view of the world and are always looking for possibilities to learn, grow and achieve what you want, that view of the world will shape your beliefs and your actions.

Naturally, this will lead to actions which will help you make the most of every opportunity to learn, grow and achieve.

You could also take on the pessimistic point of view and see failures and negative circumstances as things to run from instead of as things to learn from and grow through.

You can see the pessimistic side and see nothing but hindrances instead of possibilities. It’s all in how you process it.

If you’re convinced of why it’s so important to become a diehard optimist, let’s look at some solid strategies for developing a persistently optimistic mindset.

Three Steps to Diehard Optimism

1. Look for Chances to Learn

Opportunities to learn are everywhere if you know where to look for them.

For example, every failure presents an opportunity to learn and so does every negative circumstance which comes into your life.

Learning from these circumstances will keep you from repeating the same mistakes over and over and will help you to achieve the second principle of becoming a diehard optimist.

2. Look for Chances to Grow

Growth is not an option in life, it’s a certainty. The only question is whether you’re growing into someone with a strong character or someone whose life is governed by fear and uncertainty.

The world around you is constantly changing and you must continue to grow and adapt with it.

If you look at everything as an opportunity to learn, you can take what you learn and put it into practice to make yourself a better person.

The other option is to learn nothing or to take a pessimistic view and allow yourself to grow into someone who is fearful and timid.

The motivational speaker Les Brown once said that who you become in life is more important than what you do or what you achieve.

This speaks of the importance of growth and development of character, which is only possible if you treat everything as a learning experience and opportunity for growth.

3. Look for Chances to Achieve

Besides learning and growing, achievement is one of the most rewarding things which you can experience in life.

As long as you focus on treating things as opportunities to learn and grow, achievement will always come as a natural result.

As this happens, your learning and growth will continue and you will achieve much and inspire others.

TIP: Write these three steps to diehard optimism down on a notecard and carry them with you everywhere you go.

Make them a consistent practice in your life until being optimistic becomes an unstoppable subconscious habit.

The Unlimited Nature of Abundance

The Unlimited Nature of Abundance
Did you know that one of the most important things that separates people who are highly successful from those who aren’t is a mindset based on abundance instead of on scarcity?

Just think about how much easier it is to be confident and to be immune to things like the fear of failure or poverty if you honestly believe that there is an endless supply of the things you want.

So, how do you create this kind of mindset and develop the confidence required to be successful and achieve your peak potential? It begins with understanding the unlimited nature of abundance ...

There Is More Than Enough if You Believe There Is

You’re probably already aware of how significant an impact your thoughts have on your actions and attitudes.

See to believe, according to what you think, and those beliefs influence your actions and those actions create the results of your life.

This is how self-fulfilling prophecies form.

People believe something, it inspires their actions and they then get results which reinforce the belief which created those actions.

So what do you think this means if you’re always thinking about how there’s not enough to go around?

This is a scarcity mentality that causes people to play it safe and not go after the things they want.

As you might guess, these people rarely get what they want, and this just reinforces the idea that good things are scarce.

However, there are people who are constantly thinking about how there is an endless supply of abundance available to everyone who has the courage to go after what they want.

These people develop beliefs consistent with those thoughts

Naturally, those beliefs lead to actions that cause these people to have more than enough of what their hearts' desire.

These results continue to reinforce the beliefs that abundance is everywhere if you just know how to look for it and focus on it.

What these people get is more abundance-based thinking, abundance-based beliefs, and actions which bring about more and more abundance.

You’ve probably seen evidence of this in your life: people who are happy, enthusiastic and driven are constantly attracting things into their life that make them happier and more enthusiastic and which fuel their drive.

For example, wealth creates opportunities to gain more wealth, and happiness creates opportunities to gain more happiness.

The same is true with good health, good relationships and all the other things in life, which are available to you in abundance provided that your thoughts are reinforcing the belief that there is, and always will be, more than enough to go around.

Developing an Abundance-based Mindset By now, you’re probably more than convinced of the importance of building an abundance-based mindset.

But how do you go about doing this?

Easy: You just start asking yourself how you would act if you already had more than enough of what you wanted.

For example, how much more confident and assertive would you be if you knew that you already had the kinds of relationships you wanted?

How much less fearful would you be of financial setbacks if you knew that you had an abundant supply of money?

The sooner you begin your life based on the assumption that there is already an unlimited supply of what you want available to you, the easier it will become for you to get more of the things you want.

Visualise Your Way to a Healthier You!

Visualise Your Way to a Healthier You!
Can you visualise your way to better health?

The answer might surprise you! You are what you think you are, and those unconscious thoughts may keep you from maintaining good health.

We are the product of our past thoughts and conditioning, so you may be subconsciously sabotaging yourself without realising it.

Visualising is nothing more than creating a picture in your mind, and most of us are skilled at this from a very early age. We do it all the time whenever we daydream or get lost in thought.

Creative visualisation helps you make the future much clearer because you can see yourself achieving important goals.

When you visualise, your brain is often in the alpha brainwave state, which is a more relaxed state of mind than you are typically in.

You access the alpha brainwave state through meditation or hypnosis, and it is a wonderful state of mind to change.

Your Brain Doesn't Know!

Your brain rarely differentiates between reality and imagination in this powerful state of mind. In addition, focusing on an important goal helps you manifest it that much faster.

If you have trouble visualising, it's easier than you might think.

Try this simple exercise.

Pick up a photo or even a picture out of a magazine and stare at it for two minutes, noticing all the details.

Now close your eyes and recall the photo or picture. It might surprise you at how much you remember.

This is a form of visualising. Take it a step further, and you can begin visualising yourself into better health.

Your mind is powerful, and it brings to you that which you continually focus on.

If you are always focusing on those things you are trying to move away from, such as talking about your problems and illnesses, you will continue to manifest those things right back into your life, whether you realise it.

If you want to make changes, focus on those things or that state of mind you are moving toward. It's as simple as that.

You Don't Need Hours On End

Five to 10 minutes a day spent visualising is worth its weight in gold. Let's look at an example now.

Suppose you are trying to lose weight but are having a hard time, like many of us!

You can visualise yourself eating healthy, shopping for healthier foods, preparing healthy meals, and even picture yourself walking every day.

Take it a step further and see yourself trying on new clothes in a smaller size. See yourself running on the beach in good health.

See yourself out with friends and family, eating healthier portions. See yourself thriving and achieving that optimal weight, with no problem at all.

Because your subconscious mind does not know the difference between reality and imagination, the more you visualise this new you, the faster you will get there.

You could even add in some positive suggestions or affirmations to supercharge your sessions and get there even faster.

If you were trying to pursue better health, you could tell yourself in your visualisation that you are the picture of good health.

What about using visualisations to help you heal faster? Visualisations are a great tool for this.

The best thing you could do if you find yourself sick is to take yourself into a relaxed state of mind by breathing deeply, for example, and see yourself overcoming the illness.

You could even visualise tiny Pac-Man-like creatures running around in your body, gobbling up illness and disease. You can visualise yourself feeling better and breathing more freely.

You can use a mantra such as, "Every day, in every way, I am getting better and better" as your new way of life, repeating it as often as you desire.

Put That Amazing Tool to Use

Your mind is an incredible tool, and you can use it to make your life and your body better.

There is a famous Hollywood screenwriter by the name of David Seidler, who won an Oscar for the best original screenplay "The King's Speech," who claims that he visualised or imagined his cancer away.

The story is that he visualised a lovely, clean, and healthy bladder for two weeks and found that his cancer had suddenly disappeared.

Now being a writer, he may have had some advantages because writers know how to use their imagination, but you can also do the same with a little more effort.

This is an amazing, heartfelt story, and it is 100 percent true, so the fact of the matter is that you can visualise yourself to better health.

The next time you find yourself under the weather or you want to try something a little simpler, such as eating healthier meals, you might try a little visualisation first because your imagination has no limits.

If you had lung cancer, you could visualise a healthy, clean, vibrant set of lungs. You could get on the Internet and find pictures of healthy lungs to help you visualise them even better.

You could repeat, as you picture yourself with these pink, vibrant healthy lungs that "My lungs are clean and clear and the picture of good health."

Now I wouldn't recommend that you suspend traditional treatment instead of visualisation.

The beauty of visualisation is that it doesn't conflict with any standard form of treatment, and no doctor would chide you for doing so.

Your mind is powerful, even more powerful than most of us understand.

This may just be the tip of the iceberg because there is no telling what the future will bring.

Don't forget that Mind Movies can help you dominate all of your visualisation goals here!
