It is imperative you know who you actually are so you can make the suitable changes necessary. 

You are unique. What is good for you may not be good for someone else. Get it right for you.

If you know yourself better, you will get improved insight into how you solve a particular problem in front of you.

How to Develop Self-Awareness

It can be difficult, but it is not impossible to develop self-awareness if you do not have it yet. 

There is no shortcut that you can take, for sure, but there are strategies you can take:

Learn to observe and monitor your life

Take an objective look at what is happening in your mind and what is happening around you and observe how these things are affecting you.

Are you reacting to everything and at the mercy of events all the time? 

Are you putting the needs of others above yours so much so that you’re self-neglecting?

Think more of yourself for a change

Stop looking at other people; stop comparing yourself because it will not do you any good.

Instead of focussing on other people, look at your life and see what you could do to make things better. 

They say do not try to improve or regulate anybody except yourself. So stick to that!

Think of yourself and what you need. Focus on what you can do and not what others think.

Learn to embrace everything about yourself

May it be the good or the bad, if you learn to accept yourself just as you are, your behaviour will change for the better. You will become more aligned with yourself.

When you can do that, you see other people will adjust.

Some people will embrace the change in you, others won’t. That’s their problem, not yours. Discard them from your life.

Embrace everything about you, so you can move forward in the right way for you.

Explore your strengths and weakness

We all have strengths and weaknesses. Some things you’ll be good at, others not so much.

This is normal. What is important is learning to notice the difference. This is part of self-awareness.

Then you’ll know what needs honing (your strengths) and what needs a bit more work (your weaknesses).

When you know yourself through and through, you can grow from this day on. It will be a hell of a ride, but will be well worth it.
