Visualise Your Way to a Healthier You!
Can you visualise your way to better health? The answer might surprise you! You are what you think you are, and those unconscious thoughts may keep you from maintaining good health.

We are the product of our past thoughts and conditioning, so you may be subconsciously sabotaging yourself without realising it. Visualising is nothing more than creating a picture in your mind, and most of us are skilled at this from a very early age. We do it all the time whenever we daydream or get lost in thought.

Creative visualisation helps you make the future much clearer because you can see yourself achieving important goals. When you visualise, your brain is often in the alpha brainwave state, which is a more relaxed state of mind than you are typically in.

You access the alpha brainwave state through meditation or hypnosis, and it is a wonderful state of mind to change.

Your Brain Doesn't Know!

Your brain rarely differentiates between reality and imagination in this powerful state of mind. In addition, focusing on an important goal helps you manifest it that much faster. If you have trouble visualising, it's easier than you might think.

Try this simple exercise.

Pick up a photo or even a picture out of a magazine and stare at it for two minutes, noticing all the details. Now close your eyes and recall the photo or picture. It might surprise you at how much you remember.

This is a form of visualising. Take it a step further, and you can begin visualising yourself into better health. Your mind is powerful, and it brings to you that which you continually focus on.

If you are always focusing on those things you are trying to move away from, such as talking about your problems and illnesses, you will continue to manifest those things right back into your life, whether you realise it. If you want to make changes, focus on those things or that state of mind you are moving toward. It's as simple as that.

You Don't Need Hours On End

Five to 10 minutes a day spent visualising is worth its weight in gold. Let's look at an example now. Suppose you are trying to lose weight but are having a hard time, like many of us!

You can visualise yourself eating healthy, shopping for healthier foods, preparing healthy meals, and even picture yourself walking every day. Take it a step further and see yourself trying on new clothes in a smaller size. See yourself running on the beach in good health.

See yourself out with friends and family, eating healthier portions. See yourself thriving and achieving that optimal weight, with no problem at all. Because your subconscious mind does not know the difference between reality and imagination, the more you visualise this new you, the faster you will get there.

You could even add in some positive suggestions or affirmations to supercharge your sessions and get there even faster. If you were trying to pursue better health, you could tell yourself in your visualisation that you are the picture of good health.

What about using visualisations to help you heal faster? Visualisations are a great tool for this. The best thing you could do if you find yourself sick is to take yourself into a relaxed state of mind by breathing deeply, for example, and see yourself overcoming the illness.

You could even visualise tiny Pac-Man-like creatures running around in your body, gobbling up illness and disease. You can visualise yourself feeling better and breathing more freely. You can use a mantra such as, "Every day, in every way, I am getting better and better" as your new way of life, repeating it as often as you desire.

Put That Amazing Tool to Use

Your mind is an incredible tool, and you can use it to make your life and your body better. There is a famous Hollywood screenwriter by the name of David Seidler, who won an Oscar for the best original screenplay "The King's Speech," who claims that he visualised or imagined his cancer away.

The story is that he visualised a lovely, clean, and healthy bladder for two weeks and found that his cancer had suddenly disappeared. Now being a writer, he may have had some advantages because writers know how to use their imagination, but you can also do the same with a little more effort.

This is an amazing, heartfelt story, and it is 100 percent true, so the fact of the matter is that you can visualise yourself to better health. The next time you find yourself under the weather or you want to try something a little simpler, such as eating healthier meals, you might try a little visualisation first because your imagination has no limits.

If you had lung cancer, you could visualise a healthy, clean, vibrant set of lungs. You could get on the Internet and find pictures of healthy lungs to help you visualise them even better. You could repeat, as you picture yourself with these pink, vibrant healthy lungs that "My lungs are clean and clear and the picture of good health."

Now I wouldn't recommend that you suspend traditional treatment instead of visualisation. The beauty of visualisation is that it doesn't conflict with any standard form of treatment, and no doctor would chide you for doing so.

Your mind is powerful, even more powerful than most of us understand. This may just be the tip of the iceberg because there is no telling what the future will bring.
